Happy 06/06/06! Hope you don't run out of crucifixes, garlic or holy water.
I'm busting my new PC's blog cherry. Yes, Compy is dead, long live the Compy. Matt built me a fresh system out of some parts he had lying around. He's a genius. It does what I want when I want it to, and it's whisper-quiet, which makes a nice change from the grumbles I'm used to. I'm utterly in love.
It's a gorgeous day today, so guess what this poor sucker did? Sat a composition exam, that's what. I managed to escape after the first hour to get some sun time, but answering questions about variable meter and polyrhythm was no fun, especially with ringing ears from the gig last night. Incassum and Gone Til Winter played the Attic, but even though a grand time was had by all, waking up with a completely deaf left ear wasn't grand at all.
I've just been helping Sharl move some things out - yep, it's moving out season already. Kick-out day is next Thursday, so Ma and Pook are coming up to get me and my stuff back to Wycombe for the summer. I'm going to miss my little room. It gets a lot of sun and the window opens fully, unlike the postage-stamp-sized hotbox I occupied last year, and it's been just the right size for me and my masses of stuff. I almost wish I didn't have to move, but where I'm moving to in September - albeit on the ninth floor - is going to be a lot more convenient.
The sad news is that I posted my Download tickets out today to their eBay buyer. I'm still gutted about not being able to go. I've got nothing to do this summer except get a job and work at it for three months straight. Sure, it'll do my bank balance some much-needed good, but where's the adventure in that?
Heck, I'll find something to do. This won't be an event-free summer. I'm off to catch some more rays.
